Paths and Traditions Fair 2016

A Fair for Those who are New or Seeking **archive**

Saturday, 16 January 2016

10 am - 4 pm

Jefferson Unitarian Church
14350 W 32nd Ave
Golden, Colorado 80401

Pagan and Polytheist religions include many different groups and traditions. It is a rich and diverse community; come find out what your local community has to offer!

The Paths and Traditions Fair is an open house event to start you on your spiritual way, to find others following your same path, or to better understand your fellow Pagans.

You will have the opportunity to speak directly with representatives of multiple different Pagan and Polytheistic traditions, discover opportunities for practice, and reach out to those who may be interested in joining your group. Throughout the day, groups will be presenting short introductions on their traditions in the classrooms.

How to participate:

Individuals who are looking to connect with representatives of area groups are welcome to drop by during the day.

If you are interested in representing your group or tradition, please contact Chris and Kelley at contact@crodreoilin.org.

Groups and Traditions in Attendance

Cró Dreoilín - Colorado Celtic Reconstructionist Pagans

We are a group of men and women in Colorado dedicated to rediscovering and connecting with the ways of the Pagan Celts. Guided by modern scholarship and inspiration, we hope to create a community that honors our Gods, Ancestors and the Daoine Sidhe; strengthens our ability to be true to our values and recognizes the poetry and spirit in the world around us.

Oakwood Crescent Coven, Modified Traditional Witchcraft

We are a small Coven that has taken on the task of training new Witches how to be Priests & Priestesses of the Craft, and how to teach that Craft to others. We do this using Traditional Coven practices that follow the Degree System.

First Degree students learn the basics of the Craft, how to do ritual, when the holidays are and why, energy work, and basic spiritual practices. Second Degree students help teach the First Degree students, as well as learning techniques of ritual writing and spell crafting. Third Degree students help teach the Second Degree students, and learn the organizational & people skills required to start, run, and maintain a Coven.

Each Degree is a Traditional year and a day, though the time required to complete each, is based on the individual. We consider ourselves a group that does serious spiritual training, in an effort to help our students walk their Path to making themselves the best that they can be in all aspects of their lives, and to train those who will train others. Because this is a more Traditional Coven, students are more like apprentices, learning from those who have already mastered the materials they teach. Class size is purposely kept small, and acceptance is based on personal merit. Not everyone who asks to be taught, will be accepted. This is not a place for those who are just looking for something to do on Wednesday night, or who are just curious. This is a place for those who have had time to look around, and have decided that the Craft is a life-long pursuit, and that they wish to learn everything they can about it, from those who have the life experience to teach it.

Elemental Magic

Author of Quantum Magic and elemental wizard. I’m founded in elemental magic and familiar with several other paths. Over the last several years I’ve focused on understanding the underlying theory of magic, how magical theory is applied to achieve practical results and how one becomes a more powerful magical person.

Elemental magic is probably the oldest type of magic practiced and the most easily attuned to for many people. Having a somewhat secular approach, please stop by to chat a bit on the wherefores and the whys of magical practice.

Shamanism

Shamanic practices trace back to all continents, cultures and times - current estimates of shamanism as humankind’s earliest spiritual practice range as far back as 100,000 years. Small wonder that so many of us feel called to explore this path! My name is Renna Shesso, and my own practice and training are centered in “core shamanism” (the most basic shamanic journeying approaches that are found throughout the world, rather than drawn from any specific culture), with overlaps into my long-time work in the Craft. This is the perspective from which I work and teach. I offer workshops ranging from beginning through advanced, and I also work in the shamanic modes of healing. Stop by or contact me - I’d be happy to share more about this amazing path.

Temple of Thoth Amen-Ra, Order of the Golden Dawn

We are a group of Golden Dawn magicians in the Denver, Colorado area who have gathered to work the Golden Dawn System of Magic. Our members come from all over the nearby area, and are devoted to practicing the system as it has developed over the past 100 years. The primary focus of our Temple is the Great Work, initiations, teaching and more. Our Temple welcomes all potential members who are interested in working, not armchair magicians.

We, the members of the Order of the Golden Dawn in the Outer, hope that our website helps those true seekers after light who may be seeking a full initiating Temple. We have members in Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas, Virginia and a new Sanctuary in Utah.

If you seek the Light of the Hidden Wisdom; if you are sincere and wish to learn the traditional Golden Dawn System of Magic; if you seek friendship and service with others in the Denver area, then our Temple may be for you. Please take a look around and may the Light of the Universe guide you on your path.

Dóiteán agus Uisce (Flame and Well) Druidic Circle, an OBOD seed group

We are a Denver based pagan group, who meets to celebrate the turning of the year and to study Druidry.

Druidry is a vital and dynamic nature spirituality that is flourishing all over the world. It unites our love of the earth with our love of creativity and the arts.

Flowing through our modern Druidry is the power of an ancient tradition: the love of Land, Sea and Sky - the love of the Earth our home.

Neos Alexandria

Alexandria in Egypt was the first city founded by Alexander the Great. Under his Successors the Ptolemies it became the intellectual capital of the ancient world. Alexandria was home to Greeks, Makedonians, Egyptians, Jews, Syrians, Persians, Romans, Africans, and even people from as far away as India and Gaul. It was a truly sophisticated, cosmopolitan and multicultural society, whose vision has helped to shape the modern world. For us, Alexandria never fell. We are a group for all who are inspired by the Greco-Egyptian culture and who seek a revival of the worship of the Gods of Greece, Egypt, and Rome

Our publishing arm, Bibliotheca Alexandrinia, promotes the revival of polytheistic religions through a series of books dedicated to the Gods of Greece, Egypt, and the surrounding region. Each volume contains essays, poetry, devotional material, original artwork, short fiction, and other works focused on a particular divinity or group of divinities. These anthologies are a collaborative effort drawing on the combined resources of the different elements within the modern Hellenic and Kemetic polytheist communities, and the larger Pagan community, in the hope that we can come together to praise our Gods and share our diverse understandings, experiences and approaches to the divine. All of the proceeds for these books go to producing further volumes or to charitable causes in the name of the Gods.

Temple of Witchcraft Tradition

Co-founded by Christopher Penczak, Steve Kenson and Adam Sartwell, the Temple of Witchcraft started in 1998 as a system of magickal training and personal development and eventually developed into a formal tradition of Witchcraft.  Now, as an outgrowth of the work of students, initiates and graduates of the programs, the Temple of Witchcraft has evolved into an organization based on traditions of modern magick, witchcraft and neopaganism.  The work of the Temple is both other-worldy and terrestrial, seeking to strengthen the connections between spirit and matter through inner transformation and public service.

The Temple of Witchcraft's goal on an individual level is to awaken the potential of the human soul to its natural gifts of psychic awareness, communion with nature and the spirits and magick.  Each individual seeks to live a magickal life.  Through these awakenings, we seek an expansion of consciousness through the alignment of our souls with Love, Will and Wisdom to further the great work.

The circle was founded in 2007. It is a teaching circle with an emphasis on tree lore and Celtic Goddesses. One of the objects of the circle is to provide a basic practice that any woman could continue for herself in any location or phase of life. Coven of the Golden Condors, Sacred Order of Black Forest

The Black Forest Family offers one of the most comprehensive clergy training programs within the Pagan community. Ours is a teaching tradition.

In the Craft, all groups have rules whether they are assumed or set forth in printed format.

The Black Forest Family is not eclectic Wicca, it is a specific study of one form of Euro-Wiccan ritual, religious, and magickal practice. As a dedicant in the Black Forest Family, you must follow the prepared Black Forest lessons, as others have before you. You may certainly study other topics on your own, including attending classes at bookstores or seminars.

There are 13 lessons which will prepare you as a person to become ordained Wiccan clergy. Each person is different; however, 3-5 years is the norm for completing the course of study earning Three Degrees.

In order to assess whether Black Forest is a good fit for you and for us, we require an Application with a fee, at least one interview, attendance at open events and a discussion of your goals prior to dedication.
